48-Hour Action Required for Corporate Transparency Act
If your business is an LLC or corporation formed before January 1, 2024, and you haven’t filed your Beneficial Ownership Information (BOI) report under the Corporate Transparency Act, you’re now entering the enforcement window.
📍 What changed on July 1, 2025?
FinCEN issued clarification: entities that fail to report after 180 days of notification may face up to $500/day in penalties, even if they’re unaware of the filing rule.
✅ What to do:
File via fincen.gov/boi (no cost)
You’ll need your EIN, company formation date, and a copy of the ID for all beneficial owners
⏳ Processing is taking longer than expected (up to 5–7 days), so do not wait until Q3 deadlines.
Are You Still Paying for Cloud Storage You Don’t Use?
A common leak in California small businesses? Unused cloud subscriptions (Dropbox, Box, OneDrive, Google Workspace). After an internal audit, a Fresno-based digital firm found $228/month in overlapping storage they hadn’t touched in 4+ months.
🧩 Use this checklist today:
Go to each account → check last login date
Look for duplicated client folders across platforms
Consolidate into one primary service and downgrade others
Bonus: Switching to Backblaze B2 + Google Drive combo saved a Santa Cruz agency 40% in storage fees with zero disruption.
